The tenth annual Bronte Vintage Gathering takes place this weekend.

The event, in aid of Manorlands, promises to be the biggest and best yet.

New attractions this year will include the "Zero Gravity" freestyle trials team, a chainsaw sculptor and a scrapheap challenge event, in which visitors will be invited to bring along a homemade device to compete in an orange-throwing competition.

A "Land Rover of destruction" will be crushing cars and, weather permitting, there will be a flypast by a Spitfire.

On Saturday evening there is a dance with a licensed bar and live entertainment in the beer tent from Rakish Paddy.

Tom Jowett, chairman of the Bronte Vintage Gathering committee, said that over the years the event had become a country show for everyone to enjoy.

He added: "It is no longer just for fanatics of vintage machinery and we really have something for everyone at our tenth anniversary event - it's a true family attraction with a fairground, musical entertainment, a bar and much much more."

Gates at the Haworth Road, Cullingworth, site are open from 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are £5, £3 concessions, with all proceeds going to the Sue Ryder Care hospice at Oxenhope.

Since the event was launched, more than £135,000 has been raised for the home. For further information about this year's gathering phone the organisers on 01535 275535.
