A pub landlord whose £30,000 Land Rover was stolen early on Monday got his vehicle back the same day thanks to a sharp-eyed postman.
Michael Roper, pictured, of the Dog and Gun, at Leeming, Oxenhope, found that the Land Rover Discovery was missing on Monday morning.
When he checked his property's security camera footage, it showed the vehicle being stolen by two young men at about 12.45am that day. "They'd been driven up in a small hatchback and when they got out they opened my car with a remote control unit or a key they'd got from somewhere," he said. "They were definitely stealing to order."
Mr Roper, who has been landlord of the pub for 14 years, said the Land Rover had been properly locked and alarmed.
His luck began to change on Monday afternoon when he received a phone call from his regular postman, Andrew Briggs.
"He knew what had happened and said he'd seen my Land Rover parked in Gillstone Drive, Haworth," said Mr Roper.

"I got over there as quickly as I could and it was still there. It wasn't damaged at all. It was parked perfectly and locked up.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed the theft had been reported to them and said officers were now examining the Land Rover.
