Selecting the cream of the crop in our fantastic photographic competition has been a tough task for judges.

But after hours of deliberation, they have finally managed to whittle down a record number of entries into a terrific top ten.

Printed in the Keighley News this week are the most inspiring images received by the Keighley News for the contest, being run in association with the town's Airedale Shopping Centre and Max Spielmann.

What better way to showcase God's own county than with this marvellous montage of super snaps from talented amateurs, all of which have been taken in the Keighley News's catchment area.

But such has been the quality from more than 100 people who entered the competition, judging has been an extremely difficult job.

Keighley News editor, Richard Parker, teamed up with Airedale Shopping Centre manager, Steve Seymour, to make the final decision.

Richard said: "That was tough!

"The quality of entries was incredible, arguably even better than last year, which meant we had to deliberate long and hard over our list of finalists. We hope readers will agree the photos shown here are a fantastic reflection of the beautiful area we live in."

Steve said: "The photography competition brought out not only the best in our local photographers but showcased the spectacular countryside we live in.

"It was an almost impossible task to shortlist it to the ten finalists.

"The creativity, vision, technique and effort was first class, and every single entry was worthy of winning. I am so glad the final decision is not mine!"

Each finalist is now in the running for our picture perfect prizes package.

The overall winner receives a superb state-of-the-art GoPro Hero 3+ Sports Action digital camera, worth £360.

The prized picture will also be scanned onto a giant 30in by 20in canvas, worth about £100, courtesy of Max Spielmann, which has a branch in the Airedale Shopping Centre. And two runners-up will also receive a 30in by 20in canvas of their entries.
