A MASTER baker employed by Keighley's Sainsbury's Supermarket has been back in the local school where he first got the bug for baking.

Mike Armstrong dropped into Riddlesden St Mary's Primary, which was once known as Grange School.

He explained that a visit from a baker during one of his old school's harvest festivals had inspired him to take this skilled pursuit up both as a career and a lifetime passion.

A spokesman for Sainsbury's Keighley said: "Mike returned the favour at his old school by making bread and pizza with the eight and nine-year-old key stage two children, along with class teachers Lynda Phillips and Lucy White.

"Mrs White was coerced into a competition with Mike to see whose dough would rise most. It was a close run competition, with a difference of opinion as to who had actually won!

"Mike made Pizza Margarita, mushroom pizza and onion topped pizza along with various bread shapes and a chocolate sharing bread for his grand finale."
