Costumes from the latest TV adaptation of Wuthering Heights are on display at the Brontë Parsonage Museum, in Haworth.

Dresses worn by Charlotte Riley, who plays Cathy, and a long black coat sported by Heathcliff – played by Tom Hardy – are among the garments on show.

The ITV production of Emily Brontë’s classic novel was broadcast in two parts, on Sunday and Monday.

Filming was carried out at locations across Yorkshire, including East Riddlesden Hall.

BAFTA award-winning screenwriter Peter Bowker, who adapted the novel for television, will visit Haworth next month — with members of the production team — to talk about the process of bringing the classic to the small screen.

The visit will form part of the museum’s contemporary arts programme of events.

And this month two high-profile authors will be appearing at Haworth as part of the same arts programme.

Playwright, critic and broadcaster Bonnie Greer will talk about her latest novel — Entropy — at the Old Schoolroom, Church Street, next Wednesday (2pm). Tickets will be £3 on the door.

And on September 19, international best-selling novelist Barbara Taylor Bradford will be at the Old Schoolroom (7.30pm) as part of a tour celebrating 30 years since the publication of her landmark novel A Woman of Substance.

She will also talk about — and sign copies of — her new novel Breaking the Rules and will discuss her love of the Brontës with arts critic and journalist Danuta Kean. Tickets, priced £5, should be booked in advance.
