Cullingworth Pre School staff – with family and friends – have signed-up to take part in this year’s Aire Valley Midnight Walk.

The 13-strong group will be among hundreds of women participating in the Saturday, June 25 12km event, in aid of the Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice at Oxenhope.

Pre School manager Janet Toner said: “My colleague Donna heard about the Midnight Walk last year. She then kept mentioning the walk and asked all the girls if they would be interested in taking part. As soon as the walk was launched this year we got some entry forms and registered.”

She added: “The pre-school is also a registered charity and we too rely heavily on donations.

“As we are so supportive of the community we try to take part in at least one organised charity event each year.

“When the Midnight Walk was advertised we thought it sounded like a great event and Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice is a fantastic charity to raise money for. Also, we thought the walk would be a great event for all the ladies to take part in together. I think it’s great for them to do something as a team outside of work.”

People can still register for the walk, which starts and finishes at Nab Wood Sports Centre. The entry fee is £15.

Manorlands events fundraiser Carly Brunskill said: “The Midnight Walk is one of the hospice’s biggest fundraising events. Last year it raised over £60,000.

“To help make this year’s walk an even bigger success, we need you. There will be a fun warm-up at the start and a well-deserved breakfast, goody bag and medal at the finish.

“In the past everyone who has taken part in the walk or volunteered to help have really enjoyed the night, so don’t miss out!”

To register, visit sueryder.org/midnightwalks or contact the Manorlands fundraising office on 01535 640430.

Volunteers are also sought to help with tasks such as marshalling.
