Trio to run in honour of teacher
Lauren and Leah Robertson and Samantha Moore are running in memory of Kathleen Henderson
Lauren and Leah Robertson and Samantha Moore are running in memory of Kathleen Henderson

Three Sutton girls are taking part in the Race for Life in memory of their former school teacher.

Lauren and Leah Robertson and Samantha Moore will run in aid of Cancer Research, at Broughton Hall, near Skipton, on May 11. They are paying tribute to Kathleen Henderson, a teacher at Sutton CoE School who died of cancer in 2005. Leah and Samantha, both 10, and 14-year-old Lauren hope to raise at least £500 between them. Leah and Lauren last year raised £400 running in memory of their grandmother Carol Rooke.

Their mum, Anita, said the girls thought it would be nice to do something in memory of Mrs Henderson. She said: "She was a teacher who always had time for you and is missed by all the children and teachers." The school this summer plans to create a memorial to Mrs Henderson in its new garden.
