Café to open at last
Denholme's youth café is set to open by the end of the month following long delays.
A wide range of activities will be offered at the purpose-built centre in Foster Park.
Young people can learn new skills, become volunteers and help run community businesses or simply chat with each other or talk to youth workers.
The latest news on the cafe was due to be revealed to Shipley Area Committee last night.
Youth service spokesman Sue Duffy said the Shipley café, opened last May, attracted 600 young people every month.
The cafés in Shipley and Denholme are both managed by an elected committee consisting of young people and agencies.
There are also under-18s sub-groups to give teenagers a say.
