A group of volunteers has attracted support from a national environmental project.
Oakworth in Bloom has been awarded a £50 grant by CSV Action Earth to support its scheme to improve the grounds of Holden Hall.
CSV Action Earth, which is supported by Morrisons supermarket, involves more than 900 voluntary organisations and businesses across the country, which are carrying out environmental work.
Hilary Healey, of Oakworth in Bloom, said: "Seven of our volunteers have helped to transform a couple of patches of mud into attractive planted areas.
"We called this our Tiny Acorn Project' as it was our first small part of a much more ambitious plan to transform Holden Hall into a more attractive place.
"As well as the planting projects, we hope to install an environmentally friendly watering system and shall also put up bird and bat boxes and insect habitats.
"We hope to go on to complete other projects around the village and next year plan to encourage local residents, shops and businesses to take part in Yorkshire in Bloom."
Gillian Hall, from Morrisons, said: "We are sure that Oakworth in Bloom's Tiny Acorn Project will make a real impact in helping to improve local environments."
