Silsden 1 AFC Liverpool 3
Liverpool completed the double over Silsden in the North West Counties Premier Division.
The Cobbydalers were beaten at the Merseyside outfit on the opening day of the season and they slumped to a home defeat in this reverse fixture.
The visitors got off to a good start and opened the scoring early. A shot was parried by Cobbydalers’ keeper Ed Hall and a subsequent shot was blocked by centre back James Nettleton but Shaun Harris netted the rebound.
Liverpool doubled their lead soon after when Darrell Hale clipped a shot around the advancing Hall.
The home side hit back when Mike Garrod slid the ball under the visitors’ keeper but Georgie Robertson made it 3-1 with just minutes remaining.
Silsden spokesman Jim Rosser said: “Liverpool are in a false position in the league as they are a very good side, and they scored in the first minute which didn’t help.
“Chris (manager Reape) brought a new signing in but new players coming into a side lacking confidence are on a hiding to nothing really.”
