Bradford & Bingley welcome back some old faces and try out some new ones in their Centurion Yorkshire Cup tie at Huddersfield on Saturday (2.00).

In the team to face the SSE National Two League North strugglers are prop Roger Raper, hooker James Brown, second-team skipper Chris Fisher and former Cougars player Karl Smith, who all make their seasonal debuts.

Completing the front row for the SSE National League Three North team is is Eddie Peglau, normally a replacement, while youngsters apart from Brown being given an opportunity are second row Harry Jeffrey, No 8 Tom Cummins, centre Josh Seal and winger James Malthouse.

First-team regulars include skipper Richard Scull at scrum half, Tom Bills at fly half and Adam Malthouse, brother of James, in the second row, while the bench is very strong.

Although Keighley suffered another injury in last Saturday’s home league defeat to Morley, flanker Shaun Minikin breaking a hand, there will be no concessions in selection for Saturday's tie at Hull.

“We will not be resting anybody. We have to keep playing,” said Keighley’s director of rugby Graeme Sheffield of the trip to the lower mid-table SSE National League Two North side.

“We lost another player in Shaun and no-one will be back on Saturday – not Scott Dyson or Stuart Inman, who should both return after Christmas.”

The derby – a repeat of the 1999 final at Wagon Lane – between Wibsey and Baildon in the first round of the Yorkshire Silver Trophy will not now take place.

Wibsey have conceded the tie as they don’t have a front row so Baildon begin their defence instead in the second round on Saturday at Harrogate Pythons.

Prop Phil Wilson, centre Andy Patchett, second row Andy Pollard and back-rower Tom Craven are all carrying knocks and will face late fitness tests.

However winger Richard Kingham and hooker Dale Tabiner are both available for selection.

Old Grovians have conceded their tie at Goole because of a plethora of niggling injuries, preferring to concentrate on their SSE Yorkshire Division Four promotion bid.
