Silsden are expecting to be back in action in the North West Counties League Premier Division on Saturday after yet another postponement in midweek.

The Cobbydalers have now had six of their last eight scheduled fixtures called off following Wednesday night’s postponement at Bacup Borough.

They head to Stockport Sports this weekend needing some points on the board after dropping into the bottom half of the table.

Club secretary Jim Rosser said: “We should be okay this time as Stockport Sports’ pitch is a good drainer, while Bacup (Borough who Silsden were due to face in midweek) has one of the worst in the league.

“The weather is expected to by drier on Saturday so our place might even be firm enough for our reserves to get a game in.

“We can’t complain too much because all of the north west has been badly hit by the storms and not many of the clubs in our division can say they haven’t been affected.

"But Chris (manager Reape) is really frustrated at the moment, as are the players.”

Silsden have tumbled to 15th in the table, five places below their hosts.

However, the Cobbydalers have three games in hand on Stockport and only trail by six points but are out of form after a stop-start November.
