Grassington United slipped to the bottom of the Premier Division after suffering a 3-1 home defeat against promoted side Cross Hills.

In contrast their opponents are handily placed to challenge for a top three position after their latest success.

Goals by Steve Brown and Bill Skelton gave Cross Hills a 2-0 lead before Nicky Wright pulled one back for Grassington.

Cross Hills made the points safe when Ben Dewhirst latched onto a long clearance and buried the ball in the net.

Cowling climbed off the bottom by earning a 3-3 draw with third-placed Grindleton. Goals by Ben Brown, Tom Sowerbutts and Stevie Barker looked like earning them only their second win until Grindleton scored a late equaliser.

Second-placed Rolls reduced the gap between themselves and leaders Skipton LMS to a single point after Fran Powell (2) and Danny Paton scored the goals which earned them a 3-0 win over Trawden. Rolls have played two games more than LMS.

Pendle climbed above Oakworth into second place in Division Two after beating them 4-1 with goals from Craig Harrison, Jordan Jackson, Daniel Morville and David Tullet. Ben Fothergill netted Oakworth’s consolation.

Chatburn came out on top in the mid-table battle with Hellifield 4-2.

Matthew Musgrove’s double plus goals from Thomas Parker and Harry Proos saw them home. Dale Denham scored both Hellifield goals.

The weather won the day in Division Two where all the games were postponed, but three matches survived in Division Three.

Gary Earle’s hat-trick enabled Oakworth to move above Cononley Sports into second place after defeating bottom team Ingrow & Worth Valley Reserves 3-2.

Dan Blakesley and Stuart Hoyle for Ingrow. Cononley, who didn’t play, have four games in hand on Oakworth.

Four goals in the second half from Joshua Smith (2), Daniel Ridehalgh and Micky Ruddock enabled Sutton to run out emphatic 5-0 win over Cowling Reserevs.

Joe Crummack had scored the only goal of the first half after good work from Lukasz Sarosinski. The teams meet again in the return fixture on Saturday.

Oxenhope Rec III and Grassington United Reserves shared a 3-3 draw. Tarek Issa (2) and Andrew Holmes were on target for Grassington while Sam Coates, Chris Day and Tom Thompson replied in an entertaining game.

Skipton Town climbed up to fourth into Division Four with a convincing 5-1 win over Bradley Reserves. Jonathan Nash’s hat-trick was key to their success.
