Silsden’s new management team have another tough assignment after their first game in charge ended in victory against North West Counties League Premier Division leaders Maine Road.

Last Saturday’s 4-2 home win put an end to a run of seven defeats but Andy Geary and Paul Schofield have it all to do again as they take their troops to third-placed Runcorn Town on Saturday.

Spokesman Jim Rosser said: “It was a real fillip last weekend and our supporters went home very happy, while Andy and Schoey were absolutely over the moon.

“We went up in the table but both of our next two games are really tough away fixtures.

“We go to Runcorn Town, who are third and still in the FA Vase, and then Congleton Town, who are sixth, the Saturday after.”

It was more of a second coming for the duo than a debut against Maine Road as they have both previously had spells in charge of the Cobbydalers. Schofield’s tenure came after his stint as Geary’s assistant earlier.
