Silsden Whitestar and Oxenhope reserves will try for an incredible SIXTH time to play their West Riding County Trophy third-round tie this Saturday after the competition’s ruling body refused to accept their ‘coin-toss’ result.
The teams tried to play the match at Silsden’s Keighley Road pitch – and then at Oxenhope’s Recreation Ground – but both surfaces were ruled too wet, causing the fixture to be postponed for a fifth time last week.
Whitestar called correctly when the teams agreed to toss a coin to see who went through to meet Campion reserves, with Oxenhope agreeing to step aside.
But the FA have ruled that the game must be played and the teams will try again at Silsden on Saturday, 1pm.
