Silsden will have their interim-management duo back in tandem on Saturday when they journey into Merseyside to take on St Helens Town.

Andy Geary has returned from a four-week stay in Australia and will join Paul Schofield in the dugout to oversee the Cobbydalers’ game against their relegation-threatened hosts in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Spokesman Jim Rosser said: “Andy got back on Thursday, so Schoey won’t be on his own this weekend.

"We thought we might be without both of them last Saturday but Schoey was able to fit his commitments with the youth set-up at Blackburn Rovers in around our game - not that it helped because we lost 6-1 at Runcorn Linnets.

"He brought in a new keeper in Jordan Watson and he played Scott Price from the start. That was good because we need experienced lads on the pitch to help our young squad through.

“You could call Saturday a must-win game for us - but it’s certainly one we must not lose.”

St Helens are third from bottom but only one point from safety and have played fewer games than all of their relegation rivals.
