Runaway Division One leaders Oakworth suffered a one-run defeat in a thrilling game against Barrow ford at Cure Hill.

A fourth-wicket partnership of 85 by Nick Burton (62) and Andrew Smith (41) helped the visitors to a total of 219-9.

Matt House took 4-52 and Gareth Marshall (3-23) but Oakworth were to regret the concession of 32 extras.

After losing two early wickets, Oakworth were revived by a third-wicket stand of 140 by Gareth Marshall (89) and Michael Scarbor- ough (66).

When Scarborough was dismissed at 201, Barrowford could scent victory.

Despite some frenetic running they reached the last ball needing four to win and could only manage two.

Cullingworth and Haworth Road are joint second six points behind Oakworth.

Lowly Thornton made 177 against Cullingworth. The ageless Kevin Pollard led the way with 53 and Jack Laycock made 37 as Chris Welch took 3-17 and Graham Rankin (3-70).

The reply was rocking at 110-6 then George Fletcher (46no) and Adie Powis (26no) saw Cullingworth home with 15 balls to spare.

Haworth Road recorded a 32-run win in a high-scoring game at Haworth.

Mohammed Zahid (83) and Chris Griggs (53) put on 130 for the first wicket as Haworth Road made a formidable 260 despite Dan Trowers taking 5-57.

The Bronte side made 228-6 in reply with Jamie Rowell finishing unbeaten on 98.

Crossflatts are fourth after winning a low-scoring game game at Foulridge by six wickets.

The home side were dismissed for 101 before Crossflatts eased to their target with R Ayub making 56.

Farhan Abbasi hit 74 and Wasim Hussain (34) to help Ingrow St John’s to 202 at Embsay with Scott Robinson taking 3-32 and Duncan Ward (3-34).

The brittle Embsay batting cracked again as they were all out for 129 as Mohammed Ibrahim claimed 5-46.

This leaves Embsay joint ninth with Bradley just two points above the bottom two.

Bradley made 176-7 at Bingley Congs with James Heseltine leading the way with 59 as Neil Copping and Aidy Dibb both finished with 3-65.

Steady batting led the Beckfoot Lane side to victory by four wickets with Tom Keighley making 40 and Chris Dibb (32).

Riddlesden and Cowling are separated by just a point at the top of Division Two. The Grange Road side moved to the top after they saw off third-placed Glusburn by 110 runs.

Cowling had an off day as they went down by 43 runs at Denholme.

The Keighley Road side made 212-8 with Richard Taylor topscoring with 39 as Steve Richardson took 5-66.

The visitors replied with 169 with Richardson making 39 as Matt Wear took 3-27 and Tom Greenwood (3-38).

Sutton were indebted to two of their seasoned campaigners for snatching the points from Wilsden at Royd Hill.

Opener Chris Williams made 51 and Paul Williams (40no) as they chased down 178-8 with just two balls to spare to win by one wicket as Stuart Wilson took 5-80 and Dave Hahn (4-55). In the visitors innings Wilson made 74 and skipper Steve Wright (34no).

Wilsden joined Chatburn at the top of Division Three after beating them by 103 runs. Chatburn lost their last nine wickets for 32 runs as they tumbled to 134 all out in reply to Wilsden’s 237-9.

Sandy Lane’s recent poor form continued with a one wicket defeat at the hands of Crossflatts II.

They made a modest 141 with Mark Oldfield leading the way with 83 as Mick Addy took 5-43. G Cook (50) led the successful reply.

Gargrave made a challenging 220 at home to Cononley with John Beckwith (66), R Freeman (39), Steve Longley (34no) and Ryk Taylor (34) as Willie Naylor claimed 5-56.

The free flowing visitor’s batters made light work of the reply, winning by five wickets with three overs to spare. Tim Starkey made 62 and Andrew Starkey (56).

There were strange goings on at Street Lane where visitors Embsay II declared their innings at 66-4 in the 14th over against Ingrow St John’s.

Several of their players had been hit by rearing balls, one retiring hurt.

After discussion amongst the senior players it was decided to declare the innings especially in view of the number of juniors still to bat.

The Saints knocked off the runs in 16 overs with Rafaqat Hussain making 35.

Skipton CI continue to dominate Division Four. Their free-scoring batsmen rattled up 232-3 in their overs at Sandylands with Sean Williamson making 73no, Martin Seward 61 and Paul Mason (41no). Visitors Haworth II made 121 in reply as John Stuttard took 5-60 and Williamson (3-10).

Cullingworth II are in second place, nine points adrift, after they held off a determined effort from Thornton II to win by two runs.

John Terry and George Heartfield both scored 52 as the Roydwood Terrace side made 206-9.

The Booth Bridge Laners led by Tim Gates (63) and Dan Oldfield (37) reached 197-7 before losing their last three wickets for just seven runs.

Oakworth III lead Division Five by one point following their 95-run win over Skipton CI II at Bronte Fields.

Denholme II are lurking a point behind the leaders.

They travelled to Cowling II and shot them out for 36, but lost seven wickets knocking off the runs.

Richard Saxby (56) and 7-32 helped Gargrave to victory by 80 runs over Cononley II at Skipton Road.

There was a stunning bowling performance at Sandy Lane II where A Grace took 9-76 to help his side to a narrow 13 run win over Sutton II.
