A pub player from Keighley has been given an opportunity to break onto the professional darts tour.
Frank Kirkwood, of The Three Horses pub on Fell Lane, has secured a place in the prestigious Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) qualifying school after finishing in the top eight of the national Redtooth Darts Tournament in Sheffield.
If successful at Q.School, which takes place in Wigan between January 15-18, Frank will join the best 225 professional players in the world on the PDC Tour.
The Redtooth Darts final was attended by 16-time world champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and 125 amateur players from across the country.
Taylor was on hand to meet and greet players, conduct a question-and-answer session and give players tips and advice.
In addition to Frank, seven others players from the Redtooth Darts final will be attending Q School.
