Thackley are making life difficult for themselves in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division as they try to live up to their early promise.

The Dennyboys are still very much in the title race in fourth place but having lost at second-placed Barton Town in midweek, they host leaders Tadcaster Albion on Saturday, tomorrow hoping to end a run of three straight defeats.

Brighouse Town remain serious promotion contenders in a division where only one club goes up, but they are also in a poor run of form.

Town will be hoping the Dennyboys and Taddy take points off each other as they have enough games in hand to claim top spot.

Town know they also have a must-win game though as the eighth-placed club travels to Pickering Town who are sixth, although they are just one point better off and have played six games more.

Albion Sports are just above Pickering in the table and they will be expecting to consolidate their place in the top five. Kulwinder Sandhu’s men travel to third-from-bottom Parkgate.

Liversedge make up the quartet of clubs from the area in the NCE top tier and they will have to shake off the ring-rust on Saturday.

Sedge are yet to play this month but are at home against mid-table rivals Garforth Town.

In Division One, Eccleshill United will be full of confidence for their trip to Clipstone Welfare.

Lee Duxbury’s Eagles are sixth in the table and progressed in the League Cup with two late goals in a midweek win over Cleethorpes Town, who are above them in the league.

Silsden will also be buoyant as they host St Helens Town in the North West Counties League top tier.

The Cobbydalers may be a lowly 17th but they go into the clash on the back of two consecutive victories.
