A dramatic comeback saw Culllingworth Youth claim another Wharfedale Triangle League Premier Division scalp in the Senior Cup as they beat Salts first team 3-2 at home.

As in their victory in the last round, when Joshua Ellison was missing against Shipley Town, Youth were without one of their leading strikers again.

This time it was Jack Wyper, and Cullingworth should have been a goal up in the first five minutes when an unmarked player failed to connect with a cross from the right wing by Ellison.

The only goal of the first half was scored by Salts, and they went 2-0 up after 15 minutes of the second half.

Youth went for broke with 20 minutes left and it paid off.

Kyle Fox calmly dispatched a free-kick before Ellison levelled the scores and, with time running out, Harry Holmes scored the winner for Youth, who play Aire Valley in the next round. Andy Wyper was Cullingworth’s man of the match.

Youth are at home to Keighley Albion on Sunday.

Also in the cup, Keighley Town were emphatic 7-1 winners at Moortown Albion.

Leon Smith chipped the keeper for the opener before Leroy Hickman took centre stage.

He scored twice before the break, including one from 40 yards, and completed his hat-trick after the interval.

Substitute Dan McHugh made it 5-0 before Hickman scored his fourth, and Web-ster completed Town’s scoring, Moortown grabbing a late consolation.
