The Bees players have been told to Bee-lieve ahead of Le Crunch on Saturday.

To survive in SSE National League Three North, Bradford & Bingley must gain a bonus-point victory at home to Burnage and hope that Billingham take nothing at likely champions Huddersfield and Percy Park flop in their final two matches.

The Bees looked dead and buried in early March but three wins from four matches have given them a chance.

“If we had played like that all season, we wouldn’t be where we are now,” said forwards’ coach Ronnie Kelly.

“We have started using the expression Bee-lieve. All we can do is try to get five points and hope that other results go our way.”

Prop Jason Moss is likely to recover from the bang to the knee he suffered last Saturday in the 26-5 home defeat to Sale, powerful winger James Morton’s hamstring injury has improved enough for him to go on the bench, while Stuart Dixon is set to continue at fly half in the absence of Phil Greaves.

While Bradford & Bingley’s fate may not be decided on Saturday because of Percy Park’s game in hand, Keighley could be in the same situation in SSE Yorkshire Division One.

They need to win at Scarborough and Pontefract lose 17 miles along the coast at Bridlington for the Rose Cottage club’s fight against demotion to go to their home match against York on Saturday, April 26.

To survive, Keighley need nine points from these two matches, with Pontefract picking up nothing.

Although there was pride for Keighley’s director of rugby Graeme Sheffield at how his scratch side triumphed 17-12 at home to Wath last Saturday, there was also frustration regarding their inconsistency over the course of the season.

Bradford Salem, who have three players returning at Barnsley, are shooting for third place in SSE Yorkshire Division Two.

“We should have done better against the lower-placed teams in the division,” lamented fixture secretary Neil Klenk.
