BURLEY picked up maximum bonus points for the second week in a row and edged ahead of Otley at the top of Aire-Wharfe League DIVISION ONE at the season’s halfway point, even though Otley have won one more game.

Burley’s batting bonuses are equalled only by Steeton and are 12 points better than Otley’s, and they showed why again when Charlie Davy led the way with a superb century as they raced to 262-9 against Ilkley.

He found solid support from Nick Brook (34), Jason Wright (31) and Danny Bryan (37) and then Brook turned destroyer, taking 4-27 as Ilkley were bowled out for 191, with Rob Spivey (49) and Ian Chaplin (40) top-scoring.

Meanwhile Otley, who went through the first nine games unbeaten, crashed to a second successive defeat, this time at the hands of bottom side Collingham.

Only Matt O’Grady (35no) and Jamie Pickering (31) managed any mastery of the Collingham attack and Otley’s 159 total was passed with three wickets in hand.

That win put Collingham above Ben Rhydding, who, having dismissed Kirkstall for 129, were then bowled out for 95.

Neil Spragg (89) and Mark Taylor (28) put on 50 to help Steeton recover from 9-3 but then two more quick wickets saw the innings falter again and finally end on 162, with Nasir Jamal (4-40) and Marcus Brown (3-24) the pick of the Guiseley bowlers.

Guiseley lost a wicket without scoring but steady batting, headed by Joe Reed (36), saw them close on the target, and even though they had a nervy spell when they lost two wickets at 150, Chris Wain and Jamal saw them home with two wickets in hand.

Conor McInerney reached the half-century mark for the fifth time this season but found little support and Rawdon’s 132 total was comfortably overtaken by Beckwithshaw.

A spirited 90 from Joe Ollerenshaw put Thackley on the way to victory over Tong Park Esholt and lifted them off the bottom of DIVISION TWO.

Park made a good start to their reply, with Ajanthe Weerapulli making 38, but Jack Young (4-40) and Andrew Stothart (3-41) triggered a collapse from 114-3 to 119-7 and eventually bowled them out for 145.

Andrew Fergie (4-61) helped restrict Knaresborough to 185-7, and even though Skipton suffered a nervy spell when they lost three quick wickets when in sight of the winning post, Shahid Nadeem (38no) saw them to victory.

Joe Lawrence (50) and Sam Lawrence (48) starred as Bolton Villas set a target of 188-9 and Sam then picked up 4-67 but with Michael Abbott (74) and Waleed Akhtar (47) leading the way, Green Lane clinched a five-wicket win and sent Villas to the bottom of the table.

Harden collapsed from 135-4 to 159 all out, which was never going to be enough against promotion favourites Follifoot.

Addingham looked set to climb out of DIVISION THREE'S bottom two when an opening century stand between Will Atkins (53) and Ricky Palacio (71) put them on the way to 232-6.

But with Majid Inayat (60), Gulsheraz Ahmed (44) and Muhammad Waqas (39) responding well, Silsden clinched victory with one wicket and four balls in hand.

Bernard Hughes (6-28) and Syed Hashmi (4-23) skittled out Hall Park for 59, a total Olicanian passed in 11.2 overs without loss.

Horsforth kept hold of top spot with a win at New Rover in which Ollie Hardaker (58) and Mahir Ali (5-73) starred.

Naveed Panesar took 6-42 as Bardsey were dismissed for 176, with Scott Driscoll (47) leading Calverley’s successful run-chase.

Menston notched their second win in a row when Gareth Lee (4-21) and Charlie Barker (3-68) restricted Alwoodley to 144. Barker (37) and Imran Mirza (60) made sure of the victory.
