Had to park my motor on the other side of the valley (A629) at 6 this morning before it shut. Its the only way i can get my family (inc a pregnant woman and a toddler) + all the days requirements, anywhere near Haworth - if i didnt want to get ripped off by the steam train.

Berets, onions and striped jerseys are all ready to go - cant wait.

As an aside; dont you just hate how the national press stereotype us yorkshire folk!

The marshalls for the TDF are staying in tents on the rugby fields in Bingley by the river, and being shipped out in the early hours by bus to various locations,, you should see the mess and rubbish they are creating, its absolutley bloody disgracefull, really bad, I seriously cant believe the state of the fields.

Great camera shots of a great county but the TV commentary is rubbish. These 2 plonkers clearly have no idea abut Yorkshire. Don't blame them for not covering Keighley, the locals wee probably out hitting each other with baseball bats.

What disgusted me is the greedy land owners/farmers trying to charge extortionate prices for people to camp or park on their fields, and some of the shops/pubs and restaurants charging extra even to regular customers. Needless to say, most of the fields had very few takers. and shop/ pub regulars shunned them. Pure greed makes me sick.

I don't believe you, how many pubs/restaurants have you been in? to make a comment like that? Name the places, give examples. The frogs wouldn.t dream of over charging anyone would they?

Another great day day for Yorkshire and Bradford District. Went up to in-laws' at Steeton and there were tons there from all over Bradford and the world. Great atmosphere and great time had by all.

Very much hoping that London and the world has seen what a cracking event we put on and there's more of the same in future.

Well done Bradford, Keighley, Ilkley, Haworth etc folk - you really showed our passion, pride and 'can-do' attitude. Even more proud to be a Yorkshireman today.

Glad you said Bradford district because they have not been within 10 mile of s**thole uk today,What a shame,! they missed great camera shots of litter blowing up an down Manchester Road,Leeds Road and Manningham Lane.I am Bradford Born and bread, so it saddens me to say this,i was on the Headrow in Leeds yesterday morning, with it's mixture of lovely old buildings and sky scrapers, to witness the ride out to Harewood. It was so impressive and well organised. it made our once proud city looking like what it is now.A dump!!!

I didn't go anywhere near the event. An FOI to see how much Bradford Council spent on this race not coming within 11 miles of the city centre would be in order.

Where was the fan park in the city centre to make the most of the £24m puddle?

To be fair, it's about time some council money was spent on the outer areas Like Silsden, Ilkley, Addingham, Howorth & Oxenhope who pay far more in council tax than they take out.

Look at the other story today, all about money for the City center whilst the rest is ignored.

I was out on the route both days and enjoyed it. One of the few times I've felt I have got some return from the council tax I pay year on year.
