INGROW St John's have claimed their first Division One title in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

They guaranteed finishing ahead of defending champions Oakworth by defeating already-relegated Cowling by 36 runs at the Coliseum in a high-scoring game.

Saints rattled up 231-9 declared, with Sarum Qureshi – living an adventurous life as he was dropped numerous times – hitting 93 and Omar Khatab making a stylish 59 as Shahid Hassan claimed 6-38 from seven overs.

The reply closed on a creditable 195-9, with Mark Adams top-scoring on 42 as John Cleaver rolled back the years to finish with 40 and Mike Dudley made 33 as Nadeem Saftar took 3-63.

Oakworth, who needed Saints to lose and themselves to win to take the title, got the bit they had control over right in terrific style at home to Crossflatts.

The Ryshworth Park outfit recorded 154-7, Dominic Bennett leading the way with 79 and Mohammed Adil adding 30.

The Cure Hill side's reply was stunning as they needed just 18 overs to win by nine wickets.

Gareth Marshall took 51 balls to score 76 not out (two sixes, 12 fours) and Jack Hainsworth 48 balls to reach 51(one six, eight fours).

Haworth Road's poor run of form continued as they went down by 56 runs at home to Haworth.

Dan Bainbridge (55) and Richard Ellis (50no) helped the Bronte side to 180-9 and the Baildon Bottom team could only muster 124 in reply.

Ten-man Riddlesden got the better of Bingley Congs by 20 runs at Beckfoot Lane.

Mohammed Shahnawaz (87) and A Hussain (4-49) were the stars for the winners, while Andrew Copping (53) and Neil Copping (5-55) battled vainly in response.
