MUHAMMAD Ali has added another title to his promising teenage ledger.
The 18-year-old from Keighley defeated Bulgarian opponent Daniel Asenov in the final of the 52kg division at the European Youth Championships in Zagreb on Saturday.
Ali, who boxes out of the Bury Amateur Club, had won previous rounds in the Croatian capital against Mykyta Charuta (Ukraine) on a third-round technical knockout, Levan Khasaia (Russia) 3-0 and Sandor Tar (Hungary) on a second-round knockout.
But Ali's England team-mate Dalton Smith could not make it a double celebration as he lost the 60kg final to Maxim Krivtsov (Russia).
Ali's victory completed a great week for the youngster as he was also shortlisted for the SportsAid One-to-Watch Award.
The boxer is one of 1,300 athletes from across the United Kingdom to receive funding from SportsAid this year and is down to the final ten for the award.
This will be announced at the SportsBall, SportsAid'sflagship gala dinner at Supernova on London's Embankment Gardens on Thursday, November 27.
