CHRIS Melling held his hands up after being defeated by another Chinese teenager in the International Championship.

The Keighley potter went down 6-1 to 16-year-old Zhou Yuelong in the first round in Chengdu, and tweeted: "The lad played brilliant to be fair, had five breaks over 50 and I hardly had a go. Best of luck to him."

Yuelong, who is on his debut season on the main tour, won the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Championship last year.

Meanwhile, Melling, who almost missed his connecting flight to China from Heathrow, has had a change of opponent in the PartyPoker World Pool Masters in Nottingham next month.

He was due to play 2010 World 9-ball champion Francisco Bustamente, but he is now unable to travel so Melling will now face another Filipino in Dennis Orcollo, the 2011 WPA World 8-ball winner, in the second session on Saturday, November 15.
