STRIKE Taekwondo enjoyed success in the British Taekwondo Association Championships at Dragon's Academy, Sheffield.

Although not a part of the association, the Keighley team were invited to take part as guests and fielded a ten-strong team.

Youngster Jake Gallagher (yellow belt, green tag) represented Strike for the clash of the teams event, performing one poomsae (pattern) against each representative from the other clubs, which included senior graded competitors. He was credited with a win from a panel of judges based on both performance and having the courage to face more experienced and older competitors.

In the sparring, Team Strike also enjoyed great success in the majority of weight divisions, with all their competitors finishing within the top three.

Brothers Cody and Jake Calvert defeated two opponents each on the way to the final where they met each other, older brother Cody taking the gold.

Other results: Golds – Lewis Horne (Strike's youngest competitor, aged five), Ethan Horne,

Ruby-Leigh Smith, Adam Thompson, Mark Ainley; Silvers – Jake Gallagher, Amy Winteridge, Sophie Winteridge.

Team Strike finished first overall in the BTA Cup but were not eligible to claim the honours due to being an outside association.
