Keighley Athletic 6 Menston Town 2
THE Athletes continued their recent resurgence to move up to fourth place in the Wharfedale Triangle League Premier Division.
The home side started the brighter and it was against the run of play when they fell behind, Menston converting a penalty from their first meaningful attack.
It was a short-lived lead, with new signing Matthew Dykes stroking home the equaliser. Joe Brady then extended his goal streak with two quickfire headers, Mark Hird twice providing assists.
Menston scored again shortly after half-time but a smart Connor Madden finish and a deflected Adam Burns free-kick swiftly extinguished thoughts of a comeback. With goalkeeper Lee Rogers saving a second Menston spot-kick and club captain Burns concluding the scoring with another penalty, it was Athletic's day.
