Polonia edged out Oxenhope Rec Thirds 4-3 in a Craven League Division Two thriller to go second on goal difference behind Grassington United Reserves.

Sebastian Miler’s 20th-minute strike for Polonia made it 1-1 by the break, after Tony Cooper had given Rec the lead, and man of the match Damian Swies put the hosts 2-1 up.

Goals from their man of the match Leroy Hickman and Nivard Trowers gave Oxenhope a 3-2 advantage but two from Macilj Gawrydi, after 70 and 78 minutes, sealed victory for Polonia.

Sporting Keighley climbed a place to sixth after a 9-2 home victory over Earby Town Reserves, with Aaron Abbas and Astir Zuber both bagging hat-tricks.

Bradley Reserves were the big movers in Division Three, climbing from 11th to seventh after a surprise 3-2 home win over Ingrow & Worth Valley Reserves. Andrew Hardeman, Liam Wheeler and Tom Wilson netted for the victors.

Much-changed Cross Hills Reserves stayed sixth after a 2-0 home win over Cowling Reserves, who were denied early on by the keeper and the bar.

Cross Hills got a grip in midfield and Callum Lowe put them in front. He also scored the second after good combination play with fellow former Sutton player Joe Birney.

Depleted Sutton Reserves went down 3-0 at second-placed Pendle Renegades Reserves, paying the price for failing to capitalise on a great opening 20 minutes.

Sutton’s man of the match was captain Danny Waterfield, with John Naylor and John Crummack also putting in good performances.
