KEIGHLEY Under-17 Minors will be eager for a repeat of last season's County Cup result against Craven Under-17s at The Angel Telecom Stadium, Silsden tonight (7.30pm).

Keighley beat their neighbours 5-2 last year, which, added to wins against Bradford and Wharfedale, saw them reach the final, which they lost to Wharfedale.

Coach Charlie Wysocki said: "Part of the squad from last season is still with us and we have a strong determination to put the disappointment of the final defeat behind us, although there is a lot of hard work to do before we reach that stage.

“Tonight’s game against Craven is a good test for all our players as playing on a big field such as at Silsden means that we must try and keep the ball as much as possible as we cannot afford to be chasing the ball for long periods.

"We are happy with how our preparations have gone this season and believe that we have brought together a hungry squad of players that want to represent Keighley and they are all aware that places are up for grabs and it is down to their own attitude and commitment to keep hold of the shirts when they have them.”

This hunger was evident in the opening group game at Halifax as Keighley came from behind twice to secure a 3-2 win thanks to goals from Tom Baker (penalty) and man of the match Lewis Hopkinson (2).

Keighley squad: Matthew Fleetwood, Keann Shaw, Dan Scott, Lewis Hopkinson, Kieron Henry, Luca Zenti, Harry McGowan, Tom Baker (captain), Connor Mitchell, James Gilmartin, Alex Wysocki, Connor McGrann, Ben Cox, Owen Williamson, Sam Fox, Tyler Brigg, Callum Holmes, Sam Murphy, Matt Klava.
