SUTTON have finally broken their duck.

After eight straight losses in Mastab's Craven League Division Two, they notched a shock 3-2 extra-time home win over Broomhill in the first round of the Division Two Cup.

Tom Hill and man of the match Patrick King were on target to earn sixth-placed Broomhill a 2-1 half-time lead but the basement boys, inspired by Lee Rooke, hit back with goals from Jamie Wilson, Barry Gummary and Lukasz Sarosinski to reach the quarter-finals.

The top two in the division were meeting in league action, and hosts Polonia and leaders Grassington United Reserves produced a thrilling 5-5 draw.

Damian Swies struck after 20 minutes for the Poles but he was overshadowed by the visitors’ Adam Steventon, who scored four times.

Polonia were 3-1 behind at half-time but recovered thanks to a hat-trick from Maciej Zoltek and a 70th-minute effort from Macilj Gawrydi.

Krysztof Wojtylak was man of the match for Polonia, who are level on points with United but have played three games more.

FC Sporting Keighley are third after a 7-1 home victory over Skipton LMS Reserves, the prolific Aaran Abbas hitting his fifth hat-trick in four games.

Junaid Taj notched a brace, with Shazaib Hussain and Aatir Shezad piling on the agony for the visitors. Abbas has now scored 27 this season, while his team have bagged 28 in their last three games.

Rob Matthews-inspired Cross Hills remain top of the Premier Division after a 2-1 home win over Cononley Sports, for whom Lee Thompson netted, while Wilsden Athletic doubled their total of league wins for the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over title-chasing visitors Trawden Celtic.

James Hallyday, Alex Lancaster and Joel Hardy struck for the hosts, while Ingrow & Worth Valley Reserves pulled off a superb 3-3 draw at second-placed Pendle Renegades Reserves in Division Three, having lost to them 5-2 at home the previous Saturday.

Ingrow travelled with just 11 players due to injuries and work commitments and expected the worst when they fell 2-0 behind after half an hour.

But the visitors dug deep, and a fine header from Liam Fothergill pulled it back to 2-1 by half-time.

Pendle regained their two-goal advantage but the Steampigs weren’t to be beaten, and a free-kick from Robbie Davison and a strike from young Aaron Blakesley made it 3-3.

The sixth-placed visitors could have pinched it at the end but had to settle for a point, ending their run of four straight defeats that had sent them tumbling down the table.

Ingrow’s Dave Harman said: “I would just like to thank the lads that played and gave 100 per cent against a good side after last week’s 5-2 home defeat against the same team. Hopefully this will kick-start our season.”

Cowling Reserves won 3-0 at home to Barlick Wanderers, Martyn Dalby being the winners' man of the match.

Ingrow & Worth Valley's first team lost 5-2 in Division One at Chatburn, who climbed from third to first, while Bradley lost 8-3 at AFC Colne in a quarter-final of the Division One Cup.

They trailed 3-0 at half-time and, despite a brace from Robert Watson and a goal from man of the match Tom Wilson, they conceded five more in the second half. Their cause was not helped by own goals from Tom Rooke and Mariusz Skoczek.
