Keighley Shamrocks U-14s 6 Thackley Thunder U-14s 2

KEIGHLEY Shamrocks Crusaders had to work hard for their victory over a well-drilled Thackley Thunder.

Thackley opened the scoring after a lack of communication between Keighley's last defender and the goalkeeper but Shammies hit back from Tom Ormerod's corner, which Kas Ali met with a glancing header into the top of the net.

After Keighley twice failed to clear the ball, Thackley scored with a fine chip from the edge of the area for a 2-1 half-time lead.

Shammies were soon back on level pegging with a quality strike from Jack Hanson. Soon after, Hanson set up Dom Westcott, who shimmied before beating the keeper.

Ali bagged his brace with a great poacher's goal before the enterprising Dylan Ward despatched a quality ball to Hanson's feet, who reacted instinctively to side-foot home from close range.

At the back, Tom Broadbent, Dylan Murgatroyd and Joe Polignone ensured Thackley were shut out in the second half and it was left to Harry Farnell to fire home a 25-yard free-kick to cap things off near the end.

Bradford United Falcons U-14s 1 Oakworth Wasps U-14s 5

THIS result propelled Oakworth to the top of the league but they had to overcome Falcon's stubborn defence and some fabulous saves from their keeper.

However, after a dogged midfield battle Wasps opened the scoring through man of the match Josh Rule, followed by two goals from top scorer Luke Hegarty to make the half-time score 3-1.

The second half was equally tight but further goals from Rule and Hegarty secured the points, with Falcons scoring a consolation goal near the end.

Myrtle Park U-18 0 Oxenhope U-18 15

Oxenhope’s newly formed under-18s travelled to Myrtle Park, who had recently shown an upturn in form in Division One of the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League, but they were put to the sword by a rampant Oxenhope side.

Sam Cameron bagged six goals, Lewis Hopkinson claimed a hat-trick, Tom Baker a brace, Callum Franklin, Dan Scott, Tom Bradley and Tom Brown also finding the net.
