KEIGHLEY swimmer James Lund was City of Bradford's highest finisher at the North East Region Senior and Junior Short Course Championships in Sunderland.

He had a sixth place junior placing in the 50m breaststroke, a seventh place in the 100m breaststroke, eighth in the 400m individual medley and ninth in the 200m backstroke.

His time of 5min 00.64sec in the medley event was an impressive 12-second personal best time.

He was closely followed by George Wilde with a seventh place in the 50m backstroke and eighth place in the longer 100m backstroke. His time of 30.60 in the shorter event was also a best time by two seconds.

Other City of Bradford swimmers who qualified for this prestigious meet were Beth Meer, Azura Cairns-Poole, Jovana Lugonja, Abigail Shuttleworth, Neve Godfrey Clark, Mille Foulds and Francesca Woodman.
