KEIGHLEY’S James Lund once again stole the limelight for his club in the City of Sunderland New Year Meet.

The 15-year-old, who is part of City of Bradford’s National Potential squad, clinched first place in the 1500m freestyle and silver position in the 100m breaststroke.

He also positioned fourth in the 50m backstroke in a time of 33.84 seconds.

It was the first long course meet of the season and gave swimmers valuable experience in the transition between short course and long course swimming.

Ilkley’s Francesca Woodman showed her versatility with six top ten finishes in the butterfly, freestyle and backstroke events.

Azura Cairns Poole went on to finish in top ten placings in the 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m and 100m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

Fourteen year old Sam Naylor had six top ten finishes in the freestyle and backstroke events his highest placed finish being fourth in the 200m freestyle.
