A PRESENTATION will be made on Saturday to mark the retirement of Branshaw Golf Club steward Alan Smith.

Having carried out the role for the past 11 years, Alan is calling time on his post at the end of this month.

As one of the longest-serving stewards at Branshaw, he has been popular at the club - always providing a smile for players whether they have played well or poorly. His wife Marilyn retired two years ago but Alan continued to run the bar.

He will pull his last pint this weekend before Peter Ousey and his wife take over on February 2.
