Pennine League Division Five: Keighley Albion 66 Hollinwood 6

ALBION put Oldham side Hollinwood to the sword to remain two points ahead of third-placed East Leeds.

Keighley set their stall out early doors with some expansive play. Winger Jamie Hodgson went down the left wing three times to score his hat-trick, while centres Ben Benfield and Colin Pickles bagged a brace apiece.

Half-backs Brady Godfrey, Cal Hudson and Connor Meegan were all dictating play and keeping the visitors guessing as they engineered chances for themselves to dummy and step their way through for a try apiece.

Holinwood rallied briefly as their stand-off broke through to touch down but it was then one-way traffic as the impressive Jak Adams, Jack Kennedy, Stevie Cutler and Jason Rolls began to make their presence felt with some telling drives.

This set the platform for further tries for Josh Ireland and Alfie Seeley, with Kennedy breaking through to touch down. Seeley added seven goals with some impressive kicking from the touchline to round off a comprehensive win for Albion.

With the division looking like it will be settled when second-placed Albion host league leaders Ovenden, coaches Dean Brookes and Andy Stokes will be eagerly anticipating the date of that particular fixture being confirmed.

But first they have the challenge of facing National Conference Premier Division side Egremont in Cumbria this weekend in the quarter-final of the National Cup. Kick-off is 1pm, with transport leaving Crossflatts Cricket Club at 9am.
