IBRAHIM Nadim, who is the cousin of potential England No 1 senior Muhammad Ali, who is also from Keighley, is forging ahead in the Junior ABA Championship.
The 16-year-old, who had a bye in his previous round, was a unanimous winner over local Luke Duffy at Croxteth Leisure Centre in Liverpool last weekend in the 42-44kg category.
He now goes forward to the semi-finals at Ponds Forge, Sheffield on Saturday and, hopefully, the final at the same venue on Sunday.
"It was a hard fight. Ibrahim's opponent was no duck egg and hit him with a couple of good early shots but Ibrahim just works so hard that he never gives his opponents any peace," said his coach Mike Jelley of Bury ABC.
