THE funeral of Long Lee Cricket Club stalwart Derek Granger is being held at the Salvation Army hall in High Street, Keighley on Tuesday (noon), prior to the cremation at Oakworth Crematorium.

Granger, who died aged 76 in Manorlands Hospice on Tuesday, April 7, was involved at Long Lee for 60 years.

The seam bowler was second-team captain before taking on responsibilities as committee member, groundsman (with Kevin Murray) and league representative, initially for the West Bradford League and latterly the Craven League.

He was also an original panel umpire for the Craven Umpires' Association in 1995, often in partnership with Colin Myers, and was a regular umpire for the Craven League representative team's match against the Nidderdale League at the Nidderdale Show.
