West Yorkshire League Premier Division: Oxenhope 9 Robin Hood 6

SPECTATORS were treated to a 15-goal bonanza on Monday night as Oxenhope won one of the most bizarre end-of-season games ever seen at the Recreation Ground.

Both teams played all-out attacking football and the goals hit the back of the net at regular intervals. The home side led 4-1 at the interval thanks to a brace from young Lewis Hopkinson and strikes from Dan Moriarty and Leon Smith.

Early in the second half Robin Hood pulled it back to 4-3 and were in the ascendancy. Back came Oxenhope with another three goals, Hopkinson securing his hat-trick and another two from Moriarty to make it 7-3.

The visitors gave themselves hope with a fourth before sub Joel Gallagher got into the scoring spree, only for Hood to score another two before Moriarty completed the feast with his fourth.

The win ensures Oxenhope finish sixth in the Premier Division, the same position as last season but with four more points. They end the season with a trip to Leeds City tomorrow night.

Team: Lee, Day (Davies), Nelson, Cox, Walton, Kaine, Morris (Gallagher), Moriarty, Smith, Quinlan, Hopkinson (Bailey).
