SPORTING Keighley are celebrating a third consecutive promotion after Craven League officials awarded them the points from last night’s cancelled Division Two match against Manningham All Stars, who couldn't raise a team.
Sporting needed a point to climb above Broomhill into second place but a win was necessary to move out of reach of fourth-placed Grassington Reserves, who still have two games still to play.
But the Craven League have moved quickly to confirm all three points have been awarded to the Marley-based team, and the table has been adjusted accordingly with Sporting finishing runners-up to Oxenhope Recreation Thirds.
Meanwhile, Settle United have been confirmed as Premier Division champions.
Needing only one win from their last two matches to seal the title, they have been awarded tomorrow night's home match against Earby Town.
Now only a miraculous 43-0 defeat against Cowling on Saturday can theoretically prevent Settle from clinching the crown.
