KEIGHLEY recovered from 85-6 to chase down Spen Victoria’s 199-8 and record only their second Division Two win of the season on Sunday.

Jonathan Wilkinson (49) and Jack Beetham (36) turned Keighley’s fortunes around, putting on 86 for the seventh wicket.

Then Hammy Shahzad blasted an unbeaten 19 off 12 balls as the visitors clinched a three-wicket victory, Sam Murphy having earlier made 29.

Spen’s total owed much to Bilal Ejaz’s 74 not out, while Alex Towler was Keighley's chief wicket-taker with 4-53.

Keighley remain second from bottom but are now just three points behind Hartshead Moor.

They were unable to pull off a shock the day before, losing at home to leaders Morley by 47 runs.

Skipper Matthew Baxter (47) overseas player Kashif Naveed (47) and Richard Jubb (43) guided the visitors to a total of 243-7, Andrew Coppen claiming 3-70.

Keighley made a spirited reply with Murphy (62) helping them to 196 all out as Luke Chapman hit 38. Off-spinner David Nebard (4-55), Ben Jenkinson (3-33) and Naveed (3-52) shared the wickets.

Hanging Heaton II showed no mercy for bottom team Keighley II as they piled up the day's highest score of 362-3 on their way to a 209-run win in Division One.

Their total was built around a fourth-wicket stand of 237 between centurions Mark Inwood (159no) and James Keen (112no).

Inwood hammered five sixes and 21 fours, while Keen's maiden century for Hanging Heaton was laced with two sixes and 19 fours, With skipper Steve Bourne making 46, there was no respite for the bowlers.

Keighley never looked like challenging such a big score but they did manage a respectable 153 thanks to 52 from Andrew Waggett. The wickets were shared by off spinner Jamie Baulk (4-20), Adeel Hafeez (3-22) and James Byrne (3-67).
