IT WAS a familiar story for Oxenhope in Division One of the Halifax League – good bowling, a batting collapse and then being bailed out by the ever-improving Spencer Mawer!
All looked straight forward as Jaz Jaheeta ripped in to the Low Moor batting line-up on the way to excellent figures of 5-64. Liam Dyson (3-25) and Taranjeet Jheeta (2-18) wrapped up the remainder of the home side's innings as Mills (30) and Williamson (35) gave the score some respectability.
Chasing a total of 128 looked a much bigger challenge when Oxenhope were reduced to 50-6 by Wood (4-45) and Haley (2-36).
However, Liam Dyson (30no) and Mawer (50no) got their heads down to see their team home to a four-wicket victory.
Oxenhope II got to the halfway point of the season undefeated after a comfortable home win against Low Moor II. Youngsters starred again as Nathan Storton bowled out the first four of the visitors' batting line-up, conceding just ten runs in a hostile spell.
A Wright gave the batting some respectability with 38no before Tom Mawer took 3-20 with his leg spin as the visitors were dismissed for just 114.
The Oxenhope innings proved equally one-sided as Eddie Jackson (52no) and Eddie Burke (58no) saw the home side to victory for the loss of just one wicket in 17 overs.
