COUGARS have signed Huddersfield prop Tyler Dickinson on loan for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old England academy international has spent time on loan at Halifax this season and former Giants player Paul March has added him to his promotion-chasing squad.

Huddersfield’s managing director Richard Thewlis said: “The opportunity for Tyler is a good one.

“He had a taste of the action at Halifax and he is now thrown into a title battle at Keighley who are desperate to gain promotion to the Championship.

“The pressure will be on him to firstly cement his place in the side and I understand he has a chance to debut at the weekend and secondly then to get the wins that his loan club needs.

“The intensity may not be of Super League level but I’m sure the desire and desperation of sides at the latter end of the year will be of great benefit to Tyler’s understanding of the professional game and we look forward to seeing how he can influence games when he takes to the field.”

Cougars player-coach March played for Huddersfield from 2002 to 2006, making 98 appearances, scoring 23 tries and 48 goals.
