VIKRAM Bakshi and Joshua Kazar are certainly giving some eye-catching performances for Crossflatts this season in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

No 7 Bakshi cracked 152 not out and opener Kazar 74 in Flatts' 308-8 at fellow title Division One contenders Ingrow St John's, Sarum Qureshi taking 3-47 for Saints, who were shot out for 122, Jim O'Hara taking 4-42 and Alex Bradbury 3-35.

Crossflatts, who have won their last four, are now level with their beaten opponents on 29 points, three behind Oakworth, who were almost as emphatic winners at home to Foulridge.

Teenager Ben Howell hit 16 fours and two sixes in his 112, adding 104 for the third wicket with skipper Michael Scarborough (68) and 130 for the fourth with Robert Hopkinson (71) in their 315-6.

Jack Davison then took 4-48 as Foulridge made 166. Pace bowlers Matty Roberts (4-47) and Harry Greenhalgh (3-40) again bowled well in harness for Bingley Congs, whose victory over Haworth Road Meths split their tie for fourth place after Chris Dibb (64) and skipper David Tarren (45) had helped Congs to 220-8.

Haworth are up to sixth after Dan Trowers (4-24) and Stephen Bell (4-31) helped to roll Barrowford over for 122, Trowers then completing a match-winning performance with 84 not out, backed up by Jamie Rowell (2-7 and 32no) as Barrowford were beaten by nine wickets in quick time.

Zahir Abbas (46 and 3-37) could not prevent Riddlesden falling to a three-wicket defeat at Chatburn, while Sutton moved out of the bottom two by having three players to thank in their 14-run victory in a low-scoring clash at home to Embsay.

Opener David Snowden (36), Chris Walker (5-21) and Justin Holdsworth (4-29) were the key figures as Sutton made 120-8 and Embsay 106.

Glusburn are coming up on the rails in their bid for promotion from Division Two.

Since losing to leaders Oakworth on June 20, the Park Field side have won four out of four to climb from a mid-table fifth in what looked a four-horse race for the title to being right in the thick of it at equal third.

Their latest victory came at Long Lee, who looked like they might be in with a sniff when they took five relatively cheap wickets.

However, Matt Lloyd (49) was helped by tail-enders Dave Atkinson (51no), Josh Banks (29) and Jack Baker (23) as the score was boosted to 226-9, skipper Jamie Robinson taking 4-37, and those late runs were vital when Long Lee collapsed from a position of strength to 183, Atkinson completing a good day by taking 3-47 and Steve Brown 4-87 as Craig Pullen made 72 and Paul Stowell 34.

Toby Priestley (43 and 4-24) was Denholme's man of the match in their 34-run win at cellar dwellers Hepworth & Idle, a victory that lifted Denholme to second behind Oakworth, who lost to a Colin Bottomley-inspired Wilsden by 27 runs.

Bottomley batted through Wilsden's innings of 280-3 for 167 (20 fours, eight sixes), adding 145 for the first wicket with skipper David Henson (45) and 89 for the second with wicket-keeper Joe Jagger (39).

Oakworth, thanks to Ben Fothergill's 104 (14 fours, two sixes) and Drew Duffy's 47, made a decent fist of things with 253, Stuart Wilson taking 5-58 and Ben Reynard 3-52.

Cowling are also in the mix but lost to Ingrow.

Martyn Dalby (72), Shahid Hassan (42), Mike Dudley (30) and Mark Adams (28) made Cowling feel content at tea-time with 228-9 (Chris Herbert 5-60) on the board but Ingrow made that look very below-par by replying with 230-4 off 32.3 overs, young wicket-keeper Ben Weatherill hitting 84 not out, opener Owen Palmer 75 and Dan Scott 43.

Thornton made a more modest 157-9, John Duffey taking 4-22 and John Drake 3-32 for Bradley, who made 158-6 in 31 overs, opener Neil Andrews making 75 not out.

Bradley's win takes them out of a relegation place but leaves Gargrave in there instead after they were castled for 85 at home to Airedale, Lee Rickaby bagging 7-42 and Mohammed Qadeer Hanif 3-30.
