SUTTON eased their Mewies Craven League Division One relegation fears with a five-wicket win over Barrowford.

Justin Holdsworth (4-5) and Richard Walker (3-52) were the key men as Barrowford were dismissed for 118. Walker completed a good personal performance by making an unbeaten 42 to guide Sutton home.

The victory enabled them to climb out of the bottom two at the expense of Chatburn, who went down by seven wickets to Haworth.

Stephen Bell took 4-31 as Chatburn were bowled out for 129 before Jamie Rowell (58) and Harry Reynoldson (33no) guided Haworth to their target.

Ben Howell (78) and Gareth Marshall (75) shared a second-wicket stand of 100 as leaders Oakworth made 251-5 in their 88-run win over Crossflatts. Lewis Wrathall chipped in with an unbeaten 49 while Charlotte Boulton (3-71) was the pick of the bowlers.

Crossflatts were restricted to 163-9 with Michael Scarborough, who recently passed 1,000 wickets, taking 5-39.

Imran Zaman hit an unbeaten 67 as second-placed Ingrow St John's beat Haworth Road by two wickets. The victory was set up by Wasim Hussain (5-38) and Farhan Abbas (4-38) who dismissed Haworth Road for 156.

Oakworth II have opened a three-point lead in Division Two after their 27-run win over Long Lee and Denholme's 67-run defeat by Thornton.

Drew Duffy (82), Sam Nettleton (54no) and Nivard Trowers (49) helped Oakworth to make 232-9 despite the efforts of Mattie Stowell (5-50). Long Lee, boosted by 72 from Stephen Butterfield and 45 by Jamie Robinson, made 205-9 in reply.

Daniel Oldfield was top scorer with 49 as Thornton made 192 before dismissing Denholme for 125.

Third-place Glusburn proved too strong for rock-bottom Gargrave. Dominic Mortimer (71no), Steve Brown (48), Patrick Lee (40) and Neil Freeman (37) helped Glusburn to post a score of 258-7.

Gargrave's reply was dominated by John Beckwith. He hammered six sixes and eight fours in his 82 as his side were bowled out for 146.

Cowling's hopes of promotion were hit by a surprise seven-wicket defeat by second-bottom Hepworth & Idle.

Opener Herbie Starkey made a defiant 56 as Cononley were bowled out by Skipton CI in Division Three. John Stuttard took 4-31 for the Skipton side who needed an unbeaten 48 fromMartin Seward to secure a slender two-wicket win. Fraser Maddocks picked up 5-32 for Cononley.

Veteran Brian Hodgson top scored with 49 as Embsay made 138-8 in their 49-run win over Riddlesden. Neil Dobinson (3-19) and Paul Wormald (3-20) were the best of the Embsay bowlers.

There was a setback for Division Five leaders Cowling as they suffered a five-wicket defeat against Sandy Lane. Steve Dalby top scored with 40 as Cowling were dismissed for 148, with Muhammad Awais taking 6-25.

Simon Todd's unbeaten 54 enabled Sutton to overhaul Bradley's 156-9 and close the gap on Cowling with a four-wicket win.
