Oxenhope Reserves 4 Headingley Reserves 1
OXENHOPE’S second string secured their second win over the season in Alliance Division One.
Chris Day opened their account from Gaz Ritson’s cross to give Oxenhope a 1-0 lead at the break.
Day then doubled the advantage with a penalty after being pushed over in the box. He looked set for a hat-trick from a corner but failed to connect, Craig Morris following up to drill into the bottom corner.
Headingley responded from their own set-piece and tested the Oxenhope defence for a while. But any hope of a comeback was killed off when Dale Hawker’s precise pass was rifled home by James Bailey.
On Monday night the reserves entertained Wyke reserves before travelling to Boroughbridge on Saturday (2.30pm).
