JIMMY Craig continued his run of success with victory in the Embsay Fell Race, while Haworth GP Jo Buckley was first lady.

Craig made the most of the favourable conditions to take first place with a time of 18min 53sec after holding off the challenge of the 2014 BOFRA champion Ted Mason.

He finished five seconds ahead of the Wharfedale Harriers runner, with Danny Collinge of Clayton-le-Moors coming home third in 19:51.

The ladies race was won by Calder Valley’s Buckley (25.02). She finished comfortably ahead of the Barlick Fell Runner Angela Donlan (26:22) and third-placed Jayne Butterworth of Skipton AC, who clocked 26:30.

The under-17 race was won by Broughton Runners' Joe Edmondson (21:12) with Euan Brennan (Ilkley Harriers 21.40) and Robbie Johnstone (Wharfedale Harriers 24.20).

Wharfedale’s Thomas Nelson, who had represented England in the Home British and Irish Junior Mountain Running Championship the previous day, opted for an easy run out, to loosen his legs, after helping secure a team gold medal for England.

The girls’ race was a Bingley Harriers’ procession with Eliza Findlay (26:27), Lucy Miller (27:28) and Katie Smith (28:33) taking the top three places.

Keighley and Craven’s Joe Hudson (12:32) was once again a winner in the under-14 boys race. He was followed to the line by Broughton Runners’ Ben Edmondson (13:07) and Rossendale Harriers’ Matthew McKay (13:31).

The girls’ race was won by Rossendale's Lauryn Gregg (15.02), securing herself another trophy. Second and third were Wharfedale’s Emily Jones (15:34) and Helm Hill’s Katie Thurlow (16:11).

Wharfedale’s Alexander Thompson (8:38) was a comfortable winner of the under-12 boys race from Clayton-le-Moors Jackson McKay (9:01) and Wharfedale’s Sam Smith (9.08).

Hoad Hill Harriers’ Olesia Winder (9.46) took the honours for the girls with Wharfedale’s Charlotte Barrett second in 9:58 and Broughton Runners’ Emily Swarbrick taking third in 10.02.

Jenson Bentham of Clayton-le-Moors (4:33) took first place in the under-nine boys race from Charlie Dawson (4:38) and Ilkley Harriers’ Jonathan Archer (4:The 40). Girls’ race winner was Hoad Hill’s Bethan Saunders (4:43).

The second and third girls were Wharfedale’s Helena Roberts (4:56) and Broughton Runners’ Jessica Edmondson (5:01).
