TYLER Dickinson is relishing the chance to play in a ‘massive’ game for Cougars against Swinton this Sunday.

It will be the young prop’s second experience of a Grand Final following the defeat to Oldham a fortnight ago, and one he is thoroughly looking forward to.

Dickinson said: “It’s a massive game this Sunday and it’ll be good to play this one at a decent ground. I can’t wait to take to the field.

“When we last played Swinton on my debut we were taken round the mill but if we can play to our strengths like on Sunday and get Tiger (Paul Handforth) involved more, doing what he does, then we should get promoted.”

The Huddersfield Giants loanee was forced from the field in the early stages of Sunday’s semi-final with a knee injury but he is confident he will be fit to face the Lions at Widnes.

“I’ve just got to rest this week," added Dickinson. "I hyper-extended my knee early on and damaged the fibres in the muscle around that so I’ll just have to take it as it comes and do plenty of physio to be ready in time.”

Sunday could be the last time Dickinson features for the club, but should he not break into the first-team fold at Huddersfield, he revealed that Cougar Park would be his destination of choice.

“Paul Anderson told me on Monday that he’ll be watching the match DVD from the game next week, and I’ve got a big pre-season ahead to try to break into the Giants’ first team.

“At the end of that, if I have to go back out on loan then Keighley would be my preference as the club to join.

“I’ve had a really good experience here with a great set of lads and it now has the potential to be a Championship club once again and I can hopefully help Marchy and the boys achieve that on Sunday.”
