Cross Hills u-18s 0 Silsden u-18s 1

THIS was sweet revenge for Silsden, who only four weeks ago suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Cross Hills.

This was an altogether different story for the Cobbydalers, with a strong team effort, despite missing their goalkeeper due to illness.

It was no less than Silsden deserved when Andy Briggs scored with a fine downward header from a corner by man of the match Oliver Whitham on 26 minutes.

In the second half, Silsden withstood the pressure superbly and kept their cool, while Cross Hills had a man sent off.

Eccleshill u-15s 3 Oakworth Wasps u-15s 12

Wasps recorded their first victory of the season with a comprehensive display.

The margin of victory would have been more but for Eccleshill's superb keeper.

With the interval score at 4-2, Eccleshill were still in the game before Wasps took complete control. Scorers for Wasps were Luke Hegarty (5), Jake Illingworth (3), Luke Farrington (2), Tyler Green and Liam George. Man of the match was Matt Gill.

Keighley Shamrocks u-15s 6 Skelmanthorpe Utd u-15s 1

Shammies enjoyed plenty of possession but had nothing to show for it until Tom Ormerod delivered a great cross for Laszlo Szennyai to power the ball home.

Jordan Daniel then burst through and finished with great class to double the lead. Tyler Hall and Harry Farnell exchanged a one-two on the halfway line and Farnell then drove forward before scoring a stunning goal as the defence back-pedalled. Shammies suffered a setback when Elliott Wilson could only parry a fine shot. The rebound was tapped in by Skelmanthorpe to reduce the deficit.

Dom Westcott and Zain Hussain provided some great width on the right and linked up well to set up Daniel to calmly slot in. Szennyai added a second before Daniel capped a fine performance with a thunderbolt from 25 yards to claim his hat-trick.
