The Keighley machine has hit high gear as the Lawkholme Lane club scored two victories over the weekend, including a fantastic one over Division One league leaders East Bierley, on Sunday, in the Priestley Cup.

The hero of the day for Keighley at Lawkholme Lane on Sunday was young Max Davision, who was solid with both the bat and the ball.

The youngster took three wickets in the East Bierley innings, including the important wicket of captain Gavin Hamilton, who played for Scotland in the 2007 World Cup and also played one Test match for England against South Africa a few years ago. Hamilton had battered the Keighley bowlers for 125 runs.

But Hamilton didn't get the support from his team-mates and Keighley bowled them all out for 223. Aussie Greg Kennedy was the pick of the bowlers on 3-39.

In reply openers Richard Robinson and captain Steven Reape got Keighley off to a good start, with Robinson top scoring on 52 and Reape adding 49. Davision also scored 49 not out to guide Keighley home to 224-3.

On Saturday, Keighley beat Great Horton away by nine runs.

Robinson once again got Keighley off to a good start as he top scored with another half century (50). Lee Gordon and Davison had knocks of 41 and 36 respectively as Keighley finished on 183 all out.

In reply Great Horton reached 174 all out but none of their batsmen cracked the 30-run barrier.

Vice captain Ross Towler seen to that as he was the pick of the Keighley bowlers on 4-42.
